Leisurereadz is back!

Hey there! Welcome once again on LeisureReadz! Although I wasn’t able to blog frequently in the month of June due to a hectic schedule, nevertheless, I am back after a short hiatus and new posts will surely resume from here on. Hope you all have missed the blog and its posts!

Writing for my blog has become a part of my current routine, that is why I am eager to be back! :) Today, while thinking about the upcoming post topics, I thought why not have a theme for this month? It will be interesting for you to read and better for me to write as all posts go based on the same theme to help me come up with nicer topics. So, my dear friends, I have chosen a theme for this month (you'll know it when you read the next post)! I know it sounds a bit confusing at this point of time. But in simpler sense, all the posts published in this month will have a central idea focusing on it. So, lets gear up for the upcoming fun and informative readz!

Till then,
Have a great week ahead!

Cheers
TSM

So, this world is full of all types of people. But when it comes to tea selection, I guess it is majorly divided into two important groups - There are green tea lovers and then there are green tea haters

The undiscovered joy of Reading

Hi there!! Welcome to a brand new post on LeisureReadz! Hope you all had a great week! Today’s post is about one of my favorite activities or hobbies (Yes, well you can certainly have more than one hobby! :) ) i.e. Reading.

All about Resolutions!!!

(NOTE: This post happens to be actually from theleisurereadz.blogspot.in. I had started the blog on 1st January but due to some email account signing in issues, I won't be using the same anymore. So, here's the new blog!! Hence, before posting the second post, I am reposting the very first post.)

Resolutions! Ahh!! Quite a favorite word for many of us. Yes, it’s that time of the year to review the resolutions made in the past year- achieving and failing; and end up with mixed feelings. For most of us, the joy of achieving some things this year is often lessened by not achieving the rest of the list.
I know that ideally we do start planning and deciding our New Year resolutions a.k.a goals almost like a week before 1st January; still it’s not too late to decide and plan them at the beginning of the year. While you as a Reader might feel that the post could be a little late, but then hey ‘Better late than never’!

For the past couple of months, I have been a silent reader of different blogs and honestly speaking quite amazed and at the same time overwhelmed by the variety and content offered. It is simply awesome to see all the Bloggers coming up with so much of useful information with well researched articles regularly. All this has sparked my interest in the Blogging process and hence, here’s my tiny step to enter the blogging world!

So, let’s get started with the very first post! Hope its an interesting read for you all! (Note: Posts after this would follow every Saturday when we all can find some time to do more Leisure Reads! :D )

To start with, here’s what the resolutions’ list for most of us this year might look like - (I know some of you would be smiling seeing a couple of them on your list and others smiling as they missed out some from their lists...

- Eat less sugar
- Lose ‘x’ amount of weight
- Read a little daily or start reading more
- Stop eating junk food
- Be a better person
- Learn something new everyday
- Save more and Earn more money or Be Debt free
- Be more organized and reduce stress or simply get better at managing time
-Travel more
- Enjoy life more

We all sincerely vow to stick to them while making an effort to genuinely improve ourselves but somehow end up surrendering to our temptations. Whatever might be the case, most of us seriously try to make at least a few resolutions every coming year and surely, we are quite enthusiastic about it. But in the whole process of assessing and making resolutions, the main part of sticking to them is somewhere sidelined. Which is why I guess most of the resolutions last only for a while and then we remain as we were earlier. Research actually shows that less than 10% of people are actually able to stick to their resolutions while the others surrender long before the year ends. So then why make resolutions? Do they really make a difference?

The answer to this question is “Yes”. There is always a room for improvement in our lives. Hence, the areas in our lives needing improvement could very well use a resolution. But what we need to ensure is that we need to ‘make it work’.

I am outlining a few points below to help you make most of your resolutions this year:

1. Habit Creation: Basically with resolutions what we are aiming for is a ‘change’; to be precise ‘a change in the existing something/stuff/habit/lifestyle’. For any change to be permanent, it needs to be morphed into a habit. Since a habit is something we all effortlessly perform day in and day out, one after another; so when making a resolution, just be realistic and carefully pick a habit that you would like to inculcate over the coming year with a due note of the accompanying satisfaction of being able to stick to this year’s resolution.

2. Be Positive: To support your habit creation, you will need to have more of a positive outlook and a firm belief to achieve what you have decided i.e. think and know that it can be done.

3. Commit to Change: For e.g. If you want to lose weight, make a small change by starting a habit of walking more or taking stairs every time possible instead of the elevator or commit going to the gym on at least 3 days of the week. If you want to read more, take a book with you (hardcopy, kindle or eBook) and read it whenever you get few minutes (if you are like me who can tolerate reading a little at times with breaks in between) or for those folks who take pride in continuous reading, well simply dedicate a time at night when you can read at least a couple of pages with out disturbance.

4. Don’t wait for the Perfect time: Experts say that the perfect time to achieve something is ‘Now’. Whatever you want to do, start doing it now! Today is a great day to start. So, no procrastination anymore!

5. Review and Adjust: Okay, your goals have been chalked out at the beginning of the year but you can always introspect them at certain time intervals and adjust them to your needs. They are not set in stone. The whole purpose of these resolutions should be to make you better than you were last year. So, you are your own competition and hence, you may surely tweak your goals periodically.

Hope, using these points you’ll be successful in sticking to your resolutions and make most of your new year.

Till the next post,
Be creative and feel alive!

Cheers,
