The fancy and elegant art of Journal writing

Hello Everyone! Hope you are doing awesome as usual!! Welcome to another fun post at LeisureReadz!

Everyone online these days seems to be crazily addicted to some sort of Journaling, be it for gratitude, food, exercise, day planning and so on. Won’t lie, I have also tried to do some kind of journaling and it turned out pretty much ok.

It’s kind of fun actually. A real eye opener I must say. So, if you feel you are up to the challenge and can delve into this logging stuff world. Then let’s go!
Journals are more of electronic or physical diary like things where you could dump whatever’s on your mind at the particular instant. Don’t be surprised if I said that these could make you better at time management, aid better weight loss or even make you a better person. Yup. Well the Habit of Journal writing can assist you in all such tasks. The benefits of writing a journal could range from helping you remember important events, things and ideas, saves you time while improving your productivity, challenges your creativity and even reduces some of your stress.
Whether you are short on time or have a specific goals in mind or even some abstract but fun ideas for later, Journals are your ‘to go’ sources. Apart from the age old diary or event writing type of journaling, let’s look at the different journals thriving these days and what purposes they fulfill.
1. Gratitude journals: Ever since people all over the globe got drawn to mindfulness; these have been the chosen ones. A gratitude journal is simply a collection of good things happened with the person every day. Something that brought a smile on his/her face; things for which he/she was thankful for that particular day. Even though fancy gratitude journals are available, just a small humble pocket diary could also help you be grateful every day. It could require as less as 3-5 mins a day for this activity. So, a good choice if you’re struggling to keep your time commitments.
2. Food journals/diary: Along the lines of gratitude journals, people have started becoming conscious often of how they look and hence, of what they eat. We often hear of more and more weight loss success stories where people watched their eating habits with help of journals or tracking apps or devices. Google play store has got lots of such tracking apps. So, if you have getting fit this year on mind then you can surely give one of the apps a go! Foodies might find this a tough one especially with entering all the data. I know… painful! ;)
3. Inspirational Journals: These are a real power house and can supply a daily dose of motivation, especially when you feel low on it. You can write/collect/add printed quotes of famous people, idioms and phrases in it. You can even decorate them to boost your positivity by using your creative side.
4. Travel journals: Travel blogs by people these days could be termed as online travel journals wherein they share their travel experiences along with places to visit, where to eat and even sometimes their personal memories. When you can make your journal beautiful using online tools and it can last long, isn’t online travel diary a superb idea? You bet!
5. Cooking journals: For people like me, who would love cooking different recipes, provided you get all the required ingredients or at least proper substitutions for them and try out different cuisines whenever possible (For the record, I am an Eggetarian by the way!), having a digital cook book or a place wherein you can save all the recipes that you have come across and would like to give it a try, smartphone apps like Pinterest, Pocket, Tumblr, Instagram or Evernote come in handy. You can even add and upload pics or details of all the yummy foods online!
Besides all these, there are few more journals like the creativity journal which is a collection of ideas, personal development journal which includes all the skill development goals and achieved targets, a craft journal or an image journal for all the creative people out there, a dream journal to record all the dreams you have had so far and so on.
Surprisingly, this blog has also become like my thought and ideas journal. I can share lot of interesting info with you all every week! It not only allows me to be creative in thinking about the post topics but also my thought processing and organization. I know. Can’t believe it myself! :)
So, what’s holding you up then? No need to write too much, all of these journals are totally customizable to your personal requirements and can even be secret enough to be understood by you and only you as an author if you wish so! Pen and paper not required!! Even your tiny smart phone would do. Although, pen and diary could be the conventional journal writing but then why not experiment? If you are someone who feels up for the pen to paper stuff and computer or phones can’t give you the feel then by all means go and have fun writing!! There are many customized and pretty notebooks, diaries, logbooks available online. Something for everyone! :) Just try the type of journaling that appeals you and hope it makes a noticeable difference to your routine in some way!
Let me know if were intrigued by the idea of journal writing. What types of journals have you kept or would you like to keep? Do share your thoughts and ideas in the comments.

Till the next post,
Stay happy and have fun reading!

Cheers,
