Hello there! :) How are you?? I know, its been two weeks and no new post came up on the blog. Sorry for that..Won't give any reasons or excuses but promise you a fun and cool read this time! :)
Its a totally different topic today that you'll be reading here. From the title, most of you have tried guessing its content. Let me tell you, this one's not what you are thinking. Lets not waste any more time and get into the post right now!
So, this world is full of all types of people. But when it comes to tea selection, I guess it is majorly divided into two important groups - There are green tea lovers and then there are green tea haters
Well, people who know me personally are smiling right now if they are reading this post just by knowing that I too have green tea as a part of my daily routine. A confession though, yes, even I am confused at times whether I really do like it that much to drink it regularly! Well obviously not on weekends!!! ;) So, I guess I too, am on the boundary line when it comes to choosing a side for the Green Tea!!! :)
I do get asked a lot of questions as to What? Why? How? All in relation to my morning cup of a steaming green tea. I don’t actually remember how long I have been having it but feels now like a morning ritual to me. When I first started going to gym back in 2011, I was introduced to this new entity called ‘green tea’ by the gym Nutritionist. Like all gym enthusiasts out there, I too jumped in to the wagon and bought green tea! :D
Won’t lie, when I first took a sip, it tasted horrible… nothing I ever imagined… I honestly didn’t like the taste at all! It was pure green tea from a reputed brand. I tried to have it daily by being brave but never came to actually liking it. So, what exactly happened in all these years? How come when I didn’t like taste of it, I stayed loyal to it all these years?? Makes you wonder... doesn’t it???
To begin with, I started with an incorrect approach. I mean... common... green tea is supposed to be good for health. Who cares if it tastes bad? May be it is supposed to taste bad… After all, most of the supposedly healthy items do not taste very good. Take Oats for an example. I know ever since different flavors came out in quick cooking Oats, they are somewhat good enough to eat. But have you ever tried eating porridge?? Overnight cooked oats?? They are sweet in taste and sticky in texture… Not something, everyone wants to eat first thing in the morning for breakfast. Enough about oats, details about them… may be later some time… ;)
Back to our green tea! Here are some of the questions, that I have been asked a number of times along with their honest answers.
So, the very first thing that I get asked a lot is-
1. ‘How can you drink that’?
I would say that it's not all that bad tasting. All you have to do is that find which infusion of green tea appeals to your taste. I must have tried a couple of flavors before finally agreeing that lemon ginger honey infusion which is a pared down version of the original green tea in term of the bitter taste and hence, tastes perfect to my palate and makes it easier to enjoy the tea! :)
2. 'Did you ever lose some real weight drinking green tea?
Huh. A tough question! I get it asked so many times that I have lost the count now! Seriously, I personally don't believe that weight loss could come from just drinking green tea!!!
Folks, it takes much more than a few cups of green tea to actually lose weight.
Nope, sorry I haven't kept a track of any weight loss by drinking green tea.
3. Well, did you notice any difference after drinking green tea?
Yes, certainly. I guess it might be different for everyone. Certainly depends on how caffeine addicted one is. For me, I feel fresh after having a nice cup of green tea in morning with a little more energy. Not sure, but I guess it has helped my skin too due to the anti oxidants.
4. Where do you find the motivation to drink it so regularly?
It's all a matter of habit. Habits are effortless. They are almost automatic. Same goes for my green tea habit. First few days, it was different but I stuck with it for some time and it became a part of my routine.
Before finishing this post, let me list out a few benefits of green tea for you here. Based on the tons of articles on the internet, well known benefits include anti aging due to the anti oxidants, aiding fat loss and weight management, may improve brain functions, lowers and prevents the risk of type two diabetes along with few serious ailments and so on.
Hope, you all found this post fun and interesting!! Well, some of you are now even thinking of including green tea in your busy schedules! Good luck! :)
Till the next post,
Have fun and stay healthy!
Cheers,
